As part of his plans to fight against the misuse of drugs like ‘Kush’, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Rtd. David T.O. Tawva assured that he has put plans in place to go after drugs lords in the country.
The Minister of Internal Affairs made this statement during the Ministry of Information and Civic Education weekly conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affair and International Cooperation Tower Hill, in Freetown.
He continued that they have put forward a paper to cabinet on strategies to eradicate Kush. He added that the paper before cabinet is designed as a strategy that can be used to in the fight against Kush.
“This is not a one ministry fight,” he stated, adding that the Police, NDMA, Ministry of Health, Social Welfare, Labour and even Ministry of Education are very pivotal in the fight against drugs.
“Tawva says that they want to cut off the supply chain because if they don’t cut off the chain, they will not be able to win the war,” he added, stating that to cut off the supply chain is the only way they can win the war.
“This is not a one-man fight, you have a duty to report to the police when you see youth in your neighborhood buying kush,” he concluded.
