Give a Hug Foundation Brings Joy and Essential Support to Maryland’s Elderly Residents

In a compassionate community effort, Give a Hug Inc., a Maryland-based nonprofit championing social equality, recently conducted a heartening donation event at three senior residential centers: Victory Crossing Senior Home Center, Victory Tower Residence, and Shepherd’s Shelter. Supported by 2NLaure Production, Trader Joe’s, and Worldwide Stretch Therapy, this initiative aimed to uplift vulnerable elderly residents by providing essential food supplies and fostering a sense of community connection.

At the event, Give a Hug Inc.’s Founder and CEO, Madam Laure Nganso, expressed the foundation’s core goals: distributing crucial food items, raising awareness about the difficulties faced by elderly individuals, and encouraging continued community support for these often-overlooked groups. “The need for food security and companionship is critical among our elderly population, and this event is a step towards addressing those needs,” Madam Nganso emphasized.

Despite the success, Madam Nganso noted that limited resources posed a challenge, impacting the foundation’s ability to reach more elderly individuals in need. She highlighted future plans to enhance Give a Hug Inc.’s reach, including expanding outreach efforts, forging partnerships with additional local businesses, and establishing regular donation programs. “These initiatives won’t stop here,” she added, “we plan to replicate them in our branches across Africa—in Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Togo, and Sierra Leone. We call on donors to continue supporting our mission, not just in the United States but across our African branches as well.”
