 MAN SENT TO HIGH COURT FOR FURTHER TRIAL

In an ongoing high profile of House breaking and Larceny case, Steven Jacob Amara a twenty- three years old was finally arraigned before magistrate Santigie  Bangura  of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Monday, 14th April, 2025, on one count charge of House Breaking and Larceny- Contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge sheet that on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024 at No 12 FAO Drive Crab Town, Aberdeen, freetown, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, break and entered into the House of Emmanuel Adeyemi Shaw with intent to steal and did steal three bundles of DVC Ceiling Sheets each valued one Thousand three Hundred Leones (NLe 1,300.00) to the total of three thousand nine hundred  leones  (NLe 3,900.00),two (2) piece 3feet 6 inches foam mattresses each valued six thousand, six hundred and eighty leones, five cents (NLe 6,682.5) to the total value of thirteen thousand three hundred and sixty-five leones ( NLe 13,365.00), five (5) cartoons floor tiles each value four hundred leones (NLe 400.00) to the total value of two thousand leones (NLe 2,000.00) and one EDSa meter value three thousand leones ( NLe 3,000.00), all to the total value of twenty-two thousand, two hundred and sixty- five leones (NLe 22,265.00), property of the said Emmanuel Adeyemi Shaw whilst in the custody of Abdul Amidu Koroma.

When the charge was read and put the accused person no plea was taken.

The State Prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson sated that she has ended her case

The accused was not legally represented before his committal to High Court.

Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura mentioned that he have carefully examined the evidence so far admitted by the prosecution and is satisfied that they have raised a primacacie case to be answered by the accused on trial.

Therefore, he committed him to stand his trial at the High Court

Bangura ruled that accused is committed to the high court for trial as accused Stated that he will gives his deposition at the High Court.

However, Magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail in the sum of Le 30,000.00 with two sureties in like sum who must be responsible citizens resident herein freetown. The bail condition to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar
