Mohamed Amara alias Mansaray a thirty-two years old was finally arraigned before magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Monday, 14th April, 2025, on three count of charges.
The accused was arraigned for Wounding with Intent-Contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861, Wounding- Contrary to section 20 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861 and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm-Contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the persons Act 1861.
According to the police charge sheet that you on on Monday, 3rd February, 2025, at Charlotte Village, in the mountain Rural Judicial District, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, wounded Sallia Kallon with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
The charge sheet indicated that you on the same date and place above, maliciously wounded Sallia Kallon.
The charge sheet furthered that you on the same date and place above, assaulted Sallia Kallon in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The state prosecutor 3379 Ballay applied for Exhibit A to be restored to the witness in Lien of “Exhibit A A 1-2”
The accused was not legally represented before his committal to High Court.
Magistrate Bangura mentioned that having regard to the evidence so far admitted by the prosecution and he is satisfied that they have raised a primafacie case to be answered by accused on trial.
He therefore hereyby committed the accused to the High Court for trial.
Bangura ruled that accused is committed to the High Court and said he will give his deposition at the High Court.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail in the sum of Le 50,000.00 with two sureties in like sum who must be responsible citizens resident herein freetown. The bail condition to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar
