Magistrate Kekura Remands Cocaine Dealer

Magistrate Sahr Kekura presiding over the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 has on Tuesday 15th June 2021 remanded in custody at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center, one Junior Fofanah of Rogbamba Junction, Hastings for allegedly dealing with prohibited drugs (Cocaine) without lawful authority contrary to section 7 (1) of the Larceny act of 2008 and unlawful possession of India-lamp (Kush) contrary to section 48 (1) of the pharmacy and drugs Act No. 11 of 2001.

The formal witnessed Detective Police Sergeant 7810 Mohamed Ringo Bangura currently attached to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), informed the court that he recognized the accused person Junior Fofanah and he recalled on the 16th May 2021 while on duty the accused was arrested and brought together with the exhibit, a white substance. Which he said suspected to be Cocaine.

He added that the matter was allocated to him for further investigation. He continued to say that together with Inspector Lloyd Brima, they obtained statement from the accused person using the Judge rule. He maintained that the statement was read and explained over to the accused. He went on to say that the statement was marked as exhibits A1 to 13, adding that on the 20thMay 2021 the forensic analyst conducted examination on the said substance suspected to be Cocaine. He adds that on the 22nd May 2021 the accused was charged to court.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura remanded in custody the accused person and adjourned the matter Monday 21st June 2021.
