Staff of the Department of Parliamentary Budget Office have today 02/08/2021 commenced a training at the premises of IPAM on capacity building that would last for about 2 months.
The Director, Department of Parliamentary Budget Office, Mr Ibrahim Jimissa said the training is provided by IPAM, and supported by UNDP as part of its continued commitment to building the capacity of the PBO staff, and by extension the Parliament of Sierra Leone. He further stated that this is in line with provisions of the PBO’s annual workplan and the Parliamentary 2021- 2025 Strategic Plan.
He also said that the training is aimed at improving on economic & financial data analysis, research and presentation skills.
Mr Jimissa went on to say that the Department of Parliamentary Budget Office is new within the parliamentary administration, and it is established mainly to support Members of Parliament in their oversight, improving the quality of debates and laws enacted by Parliament.
The areas of training include data analysis, taxation and revenue mobilization, report writing, and financial research and presentation skills.
