The Sierra Leone Embassy in Seoul South Korea is extremely saddened by the unfortunate fire incident that claimed the lives of our fellow compatriots on Friday 5th November 2021, in Wellington in the east end of Freetown.
The Embassy is joining the entire nation to mourn with families of victims for this great loss. The Embassy notes with grave concern the magnitude of the disaster caused by the fuel tanker explosion and we pray that this sad event will never happen again.
The Embassy recognizes the efforts of nurses and medical doctors for their unflinching support towards providing the needed support to those that are currently admitted in the Connaught Hospital, 34 Military Hospital, Emergency and Rokupa Government Hospital.
The Embassy also acknowledges the swift intervention of the government of Sierra Leone led by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, Honorable the Vice President Dr. Mohamed JuldehJalloh, the National Disaster Agency, the Sierra Leone Police, the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Fire Force and development partners for their invaluable contributions towards providing the needed response.
