Leone Rock Metal Group, the parent body of Kingho Mining Company and Kingho Railway and Port Company has on Tuesday 9th November 2021 weigh in supports in the form of medical and food materials to victims of the Friday 5th November 2021 fire accident which occurred in Wellington, East End of the capital Freetown.
The donation exercise took place at the headquarter of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) at Sir Samuel Lewis Road in Aberdeen, Freetown.
During the donation ceremony, Director of Public Relations, Leone Rock Metal Group, Michael He said that the donation is part of the company’s solidarity with Sierra Leoneans at this very difficult moment with a hope to be of some help to relieve this sorrow situation. The company has held a multi-faith prayer session together with a minute of silence at the headquarter and all the subsidiaries for the deceased victims, half mast was also conducted on both Tonkolili and Pepel sites.
Mr Samuel Kamara, Compliance Manager of Leone Rock Metal Group said that the donation is to boost the welfare of the victims that are currently hospitalized. He commended the NDMA for their brilliant work so far.
Responding to the donation from Leone Rock Metal Group, Director General of NDMA Rt General BrimaSesay said on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, he appreciates the gesture from Leone Rock Metal Group. He gave a breakdown of how far they had gone with managing situations regarding welfare of the victims of the fire disaster. He thanked the company for always being there to support Sierra Leone and assured that the donated materials would be utilized by the needy.
Meanwhile, amongst the materials donated by Leone Rock Metal Group were Gauze Bandages, Gloves, Surgical Masks, Metrondazole, Custards, Quick Oats, Compain Killer Drugs, Silver SulphurDiazine Creams, water and bags of rice.
