Saudi Arabia Consoles President Bio

The Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has sent a cable of condolence and sympathy to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio of the Republic of Sierra Leone following the fuel tanker explosion at Wellington, Freetown, that claimed the lives of scores of people and left many others hospitalized.

In his cable, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed deep condolence and sympathy to President Bio, families of the victims and the people of Sierra Leone for the tragic incident, which occurred on Friday 5th November, 2021.

His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, also sent cable of condolences and sympathy to President Bio, the families of the deceased and all Sierra Leoneans.

Since the tragic incident- which has led to the death of 115 people and many others hospitalized- occurred tributes have been pouring in from Diplomats in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ambassadors/Representatives of the Republic of South Africa, The Gambia, Algeria, the United Arab Emirate, the State of Palestine, Peru, Turkey, Portugal, South Korea, Portugal, Indonesia, Yemen, Poland, Egypt, Djibouti, Germany, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Nigeria, Guinea and Cameroon, have so far signed the Book of Condolence, which was opened at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday 9th November, 2021.
