Due to lack of adequate electricity supply, residents of Lungi Targrin will no longer enjoy their usual peace at night as armed robbers have gone on the rampage.
Residents interviewed by this reporter have expressed worried over the high number of youths in their community roaming in their neighborhood. The residents further told this reporter that the high presence of youths in their various communities is a security threat, as most of them spent the night attacking them to steal.
A police officer in Lungi equally interviewed promised to improve their surveillance activities at night, he furthered expressed that they are challenged as there is only two patrol vehicles available. Residents of Lungi are also worried about poor electricity supply experienced since their generator was removed months back with the promise that it will be replaced by another.
They also reported police harassment of okada riders of which police denied any wrong doing. Police have also accused the Okada riders of overloading, arguing that preventive measure is needed to save lives.
