The newly constituted Court of Njala University pursuant to the Universities Act of 2021 will this morning hold its inaugural meeting at the Senate Room of the University Secretariat, Njala.
Membership of the Court comprise of four (4) Government nominees from the regions; eight (8) members representing the Njala University Senate; Director Generals of the Ministries of Agriculture, Health, the Financial Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Tertiary Education Commission Chairman, Chief Technical Education Officer, Ministry of Technical and Higher Education; two representatives appointed by the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Chairman National Council for Technical and Vocational Awards (NCTVA), Chairman Conference of Principals, Director of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Deputy Vice-Chancellors of Bo and Njala Campuses and the respective Presidents of the Staff Associations.
Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, and other senior Administrative and Academic Staff of Njala University will also be in attendance.
Professor Sahr Moses Gevao the Chairman of the newly constituted Court will serve as Chairman for the next three years and he is expected to address the new Court members.
Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Andrew Augustin Baimba who doubles as the Deputy Chairman of Court is expected to deliver the Welcome Address.
