The President of World Hope International, Mr. John Lyon and team have paid a visit to the Managing Director of Africell Telecommunications Company, Mr. ShadiGerjawi at his Africell Headquarter in Freetown and commended him for supporting the development trajectory of the country.
Giving a brief background of his organization, Mr. John Lyon of World Hope International said his organization is currently giving out support to vulnerable communities to fight against poverty, suffering and injustice. He further told the Managing Director of Africell that their vision is to provide care and opportunity for those in need. He added that their mission is to provide opportunities for people to thrive well in society. He went on to say that World Hope International has supported all categories of people; regardless of their ethnicity, gender, race or religion. He added that the World Hope International uses market-based and community-driven enterprise solutions to empower, protect and build resilient through innovative, environmentally conscious, and transformative projects.
“We deliver our programming through strategic local and global partnerships to create a maximal, sustainable impact,” he stated, adding by commending that the management of Africell for the warm reception and contributions Africell has made in the country.
The Country Director for World Hope International, Mr. SaiduKanu said that his organization is very much happy to work with Africell Mobile Company. He applauded Africell for the support they have given to the people of Sierra Leone.
He mentioned Africell’s support towards the establishment of a radio that is called ‘’Radio Fry Fry’’. He said this radio was established to advocate for the vulnerable people and communities.
According to Bridget P. D. Sesay, General Manager of radio Fry-Fry commended Africell for their support towards the radio. He assured that the radio has positively impacted on vulnerable people and communities.
In response, the Managing Director of Africell, Mr. ShadiGerjawi assured World Hope International that Africell is always ready and willing to support meaningful organizations in Sierra Leone. Mr. Shadi further assured that Africell and AfriRadio would continue to give its unflinching support to the management of World Hope International and its radio called Fry-Fry to continue to advocate for the vulnerable in society. He disclosed that AfriRadio took the lead in creating messages during the Ebola Epidemic in Sierra Leone, adding that the sensitization messages were very rich and helpful in the fight against the Ebola in the country. He said AfriRadio was award for its contribution in the fight against Ebola. He assured them of Africell’s support towards the activities and operations of “Radio Fry Fry’’
The Acting Station Manager of AfriRadio, Mr. Abdul KarimSesay said that Africell since its establishment has been supporting the media in country. He recalled that Africell has supported several Community Radio Stations. He added that Africell is also supporting Local Television Stations and Newspapers Institutions in the country. He assured the management of World Hope International of their support.
