Ambassador Ishata Thomas Engages SLPP Stakeholders of Constituency 131, Donates NL10,000 Towards the Ongoing Registration Process

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Her Excellency Haja Ishata Thomas, on Saturday 17th September 2022 engaged SLPP stakeholders of Constituency 131 in Aberdeen and donated NL10,000 (Le10,000,000) in a bid to support the ongoing voter registration process.

During the meeting, Ambassador Thomas lauded their effort in sensitising communities within the Aberdeen community, describing the ongoing campaign as a step in the right direction. Speaking on the support of the Aberdeen community in the 2018 general elections, she reckoned that Aberdeen was the only Constituency in Freetown to elect both an SLPP Member of Parliament and Councillor.

“Registration is integral to guaranteeing eligibility to vote in the 2023 general elections. To ensure His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio’s re-election, we must heighten voter registration sensitisation. The President’s developmental strides have been remarkable, especially in the education, health, infrastructure, Agriculture, and energy sectors. As a constituency, our primary focus is to re-elect President Bio and retain the Parliamentary and Councillor seats,” Ambassador stated.

While admonishing the stakeholders to continue the robust mobilisation, she assured them of her continued support to the constituency regarding the ongoing registration process.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the constituency, the Member of Parliament for Constituency 131, Hon. Mohamed Sheriff Rahman Coker, thanked the Ambassador for her timely intervention, revealing that as a mother figure, she did not only offer inspiring words to propel their commitment but also provided them with the sum of Le10,000 to aid the ongoing process.

The Councillor together with the Constituency Chairman joined the Honourable Member of Parliament in appreciating the Ambassador, stating that the donation was one of many good deeds she had done, even before her appointment. They concluded by reechoing the Constituency’s readiness to pursue His Excellency the President’s vision and aspiration.

Ambassador Haja Ishata Thomas made a similar gesture to various communities in her home town, Kabala.

Present at the meeting were the Honourable Member of Parliament, Councillor, Constituency Chairman and Chairlady of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and other prominent community stakeholders.
