The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) on Sunday 15th January, 2023 observed the 20th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service held at the Balmer Memorial Methodist Church on John Street, Freetown, with the theme: “Lay up for Yourself Treasures in Heaven” (Matthew 6:19).Preacher of the Annual Thanksgiving Service, Rev. Dr. Ken Luseni, expressed thanks and appreciation to NASSIT for its continuing service to the nation.Rev. Dr. Ken Luseni therefore admonished the staff of NASSIT to hold on to this year’s theme, adding that they should lay their souls for the treasures in heaven with regards their responsibilities and services offered to the people.
He also entreated the NASSIT staff to have interpersonal relationships with their colleague workers.Rev. Dr. Ken Luseni concluded by dedicating the staff of NASSIT to God in ensuring they render their services to the populace diligently in order to lay up their treasures in heaven. He prayed for God to guide and protect the entire Trust.
Addressing the congregation, the Director General of NASSIT, Mr. Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, said he was overwhelmed by the leadership and membership of the Church for giving NASSIT the opportunity to give another Annual Thanksgiving Service to the Almighty Father in Heaven.
The Director General therefore expressed gratitude to the membership of the Church for their great gesture.
Mr. Daboh emphasized that NASSIT is very consistent in submitting itself every year to thank and praise God, adding that the Trust turned 20 last year and it has rendered services to the nation. He added that because of that, they joined the Church members to glorify God.
The DG recounted that once upon a time, a thunder asked a Whiteman how to make a good career and the Whiteman replied – be a good man. In that context, Mr. Daboh averred that there were lots of opportunities in that conversation between the thunder and the Whiteman.
The DG therefore entreated the congregation and the NASSIT staff to fight hard to be good human beings, adding that being a good human being, the competition must be unlimited both among families and work places. He told the NASSIT staff that their duties translate the wishes of the people and therefore implored them to act as the thunder that asked the Whiteman.”If the competition is limited it would be hard to become a good human being but if you act on the contrary, the best would surely come,” The DG concluded.
It could be recalled that on Friday 13th January 2023, NASSIT also observed its 20th Annual Thanksgiving Service at the Mende Mosque on Circular Road in Freetown.
