With over 70% of young people appointed in his cabinet after his re-election, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has reposed huge confidence in young people.
This is not only historic but also highly commendable for President Bio entrusting young people with top cabinet positions. For the first time in the history of Sierra Leone, a young person has been appointed to head the Office of the Chief Minister, which is the highest cabinet position in the President Bio’s led government.
Many people have considered this move as a mouthwatering opportunity giving to young people to translate hope into reality by actualizing the manifesto promise made by President Bio to the people of Sierra Leone.
Political analysts have also showered praises on President Bio for heeding to the calls made by majority of Sierra Leoneans to place young people in top governance positions. They have also described President Bio’s cabinet as a youth led cabinet.
Also, renowned Governance Experts have cautioned young people to live up to the task, stating further that, this is a golden opportunity that have been given to them and will not come again should they fail to deliver to the people of Sierra Leone. Recalling during the administration of the former government led by Ernest Bai Koroma, many young people like Bai Mamoud, Momodu Koroma and few others were appointed as Ministers but only few of them delivered in their respective positions.
“This is a wake-up call to the designated ministers to brace-up for the task ahead of them,” the Governance Experts appealed, furthering that, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has listening to the call of the people and it is now left with the appointed young people to deliver.
