46 PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCIES ARE ILLEGAL

The Office of National Security (ONS) has revealed that Sky Security Company, along with 45 other private security agencies, are operating without valid licenses in Sierra Leone.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, ONS stated that Private Companies (PSCs) have violated the National Security and Central Intelligence Act of 2023 (NSCIA 2023). This Act stipulates that any individual, group, or corporate entity wishing to provide private security services in Sierra Leone must obtain an official license from the Office of National Security.

Among the 46 companies listed by ONS operating without proper licenses are N’dossa Security, Agency Allied Global Security (AGS), Webb’s Security Agency, LGP (SL) Limited Quality Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Service (SL) Limited, Mamansa Logistics & Security Services, Marall’s Security Service, Kamso Investment (SI) Limited Yamjan Protection Agency, Hughes Security Company, 360 Degrees Security Solution (SL) Limited Heritage General Service, Effiong Security Agency, Special Security Services (SL) Limited and Mano River Consortium. The ONS and the government are taking this matter seriously, warning the public and government agencies not to engage the services of any PSC lacking a valid license. Their commitment to addressing this issue underscores their dedication to national security and the protection of Sierra Leonean citizens’ interest.
