Africell Launches Landmark Jubilee Promotion: 25 Years of Connectivity, 25 Years of Impact

Africell Sierra Leone has officially launched its Jubilee Jumbo Promotion, a massive celebratory campaign marking 25 years of the telecom giant’s service across Africa and 20 years of presence in Sierra Leone. The high-profile launch event, held in partnership with TAF City, brought together company executives, media personalities, and distinguished guests to reflect on Africell’s journey, its impact, and its vision for the future.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Abdul Karim Sesay, Station Manager at Afriradio, who emphasized Africell’s ongoing commitment to community empowerment through innovation, entertainment, and meaningful rewards. “Twenty-five years of service to the continent is a clear testament to our commitment to solid service delivery,” he declared.

Taking the stage next was Kamanda Koroma, Marketing and Communication Manager at Africell, who struck a passionate tone as he shared the depth of the company’s journey. “Twenty years is not 20 days or 20 minutes,” he said, recalling how he used to admire Africell’s ads on TV during his school days. He outlined the range of promotions that have touched lives—from Valentine giveaways to Ramadan wake-up bonuses—underscoring Africell’s role as a brand deeply woven into the fabric of Sierra Leonean society.

In a significant announcement, TAF City’s General Manager Anita Seye unveiled the “Win a Home” campaign a collaborative initiative with Africell that will see one lucky customer receive the keys to a brand-new three-bedroom home. “We don’t just build homes,” he said, “we build the spaces where people grow, dream, and build their futures.” TAF Africa Global, celebrating 35 years in Africa, joins Africell in marking this milestone by making homeownership a dream come true for one Sierra Leonean.

Shadi Gerjawi, CEO of Africell Sierra Leone, expressed heartfelt appreciation to partners, customers, and staff. He reiterated the company’s broader mission: “Africell is not just about connectivity; it’s about changing lives.” He detailed the mechanics of the Jubilee Jumbo promotion: every recharge of 25 Leones and above gives customers a chance to win, while recharges via Afrimoney double those chances. Prizes include smartphones, generators, cash bonuses, and the grand prize—a fully furnished home.

Rounding off the event, Martison Obeng Ajyie, Managing Director of Afrimoney, brought humor and energy to the stage while emphasizing the power of digital finance in transforming lives. “With just 25 Leones, even a student can become a landlord,” he said, urging everyone to register for Afrimoney and take advantage of the doubled and even quadrupled chances to win big.
