AFRIMONEY INTEGRATES WITH SALWACO TO ENHANCE WATER BILL PAYMENT

Freetown, Sierra Leone – Afrimoney officially integrated with the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) on Friday, May 24th, 2024, at its Headquarters in Tower Hill, Freetown, to bolster efficiency and sustainable service delivery through digitalization.

The program was launched, allowing customers to pay their SALWACO water bills through the dialing code 1612*11#, thereby digitalizing the system.

Dr. Sao Kpato Hannah Max Kyne, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, expressed delight at the occasion, emphasizing its alignment with President Bio’s vision for technological advancement in service delivery.

Dr. Kyne underscored the significance of public-private partnerships, as emphasized by President Bio, in ensuring access to clean and reliable water services, which are fundamental human rights and essential for sustainable development.

“Achieving this requires innovative solutions and a commitment to embracing the future. This is where our partner Afrimoney comes into play, as they will help us achieve that,” she stated.

Dr. Emmanuel Kannan, the Director General of Electricity Water Regulations Cooperation, highlighted the focus on revenue security and the role Afrimoney plays in ensuring the guarantee of all collections made on behalf of SALWACO.

Martison Obeng Agyei, the Managing Director of Afrimoney, encouraged the public to utilize Afrimoney for water bill payments, assuring them of receipt slips for transparency. He also pledged to enhance SALWACO’s relationship with its customers by providing convenience and comfort in bill payment.

The Managing Director of SALWACO, ING George Lamin Vandi, described the integration as part of the company’s re-engineering efforts to inject efficiency into their operations, expressing confidence in the platform’s ability to serve its intended purpose.

Representing the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Rosaline Mcathy, appealed for the establishment of more Afrimoney points in all sales agent locations to facilitate easy access for customers.
