The All People’s Congress (APC) Diaspora Region is gearing up for its 6th transformative retreat, scheduled to take place in Banjul, Gambia, from December 19 to 22, 2024. The theme for this year’s retreat is “Mobilization for Revitalization to Achieve Peace and Cohesion in the APC Party.”
In an exclusive interview, Comrade Dauda Blaq Lugbu Kamara, the Organizing Secretary for the APC’s Diaspora Sixth Region, emphasized the need for peace, love, and unity among party members. His call comes at a pivotal moment for both the APC and Sierra Leone, as the nation grapples with significant political and social challenges.
Comrade Kamara stressed the importance of adhering to the core ideology of the APC, which he believes unites members as one family. He highlighted that unity and solidarity are crucial, particularly in light of what he describes as a “stolen mandate” by the current government.
The upcoming APC Diaspora retreat aims to gather members from across the globe to discuss strategies for peace and mobilization in preparation for the 2028 general elections. The event will bring together APC members from Sierra Leone, senior party leadership, and members of Parliament, providing a platform for meaningful discussions, strategic planning, and efforts to foster unity within the party.
“We will work towards revitalizing our mission and building a stronger, more cohesive APC so we can effectively advocate for electoral justice,” Comrade Kamara stated.
He urged all APC loyalists to prioritize peace, love, and unity as the party seeks to strengthen its presence and reclaim its footing in Sierra Leone’s political landscape.
Additionally, Kamara called on all APC Diaspora members to seize this opportunity to join a movement for positive change, encouraging party members to remain calm during this transitional period. He expressed hopes that the conference would be an inspiring retreat filled with insightful sessions and collaborative activities.
