APC Youth Leader in Constituency 113 Declared Wanted

Following allegations of attempted coup, Police have declared one Patrick Sankoh who is the current youth leader of the main opposition APC party in Constituency 113 wanted, for allegedly harboring one of the coup plotters, Mohamed Kodia Jalloh.

According to the Sierra Leone Police, one of the coup plotters, Mohamed Kodia Jalloh was arrested at the resident of Patrick Sankoh in Allen Town by a group of armed OSD officers during a police operation in the afternoon hours of November 29, 2023. 

Police further added that, Mohamed Kodia Jalloh took active part in the November 26 coup attempt and have been dismissed from the Army since 2019 and was found in possession of seven pairs of military uniforms.

Police revealed further that during the operation Patrick Sankoh, who is the current APC Youth Leader in Constituency 113 was not around but the law enforcement authorities promptly apprehended Mohamed Kodia Jalloh, the alleged assailant, and took him for questioning.

However, Police explained that after several raids conducted in the resident of the APC Youth Leader Patrick Sankoh but to no avail, a ransom of one thousand five hundred United States Dollars have been put for anyone that will give vital information to the authorities that will lead to the arrest of the APC Youth Leader in Constituency 113. 

In response, the National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition APC party, Mr. Sidi Yaya Tunis has confirmed the arrest of the Organizing Secretary of the APC party and the wanted notice from the Sierra Leone Police declaring the APC Youth Leader in Constituency 113 wanted over allegations of attempted coup by the ruling SLPP government. He further confirmed that they have been briefed about the invitation sent to the former President Ernest Bai Koroma for questioning over allegations of the attempted coup.

When this medium contacted the wife of Patrick Sankoh, madam Hawanatu Kalokoh explained that they were not around on the day of the alleged coup. Madam Kalokoh further explained that together with her husband Patrick Sankoh and their three children, they went to visit their father-in-law in Makeni, in the northern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, who is seriously ill and left their caretaker in charge of their resident. She stated further that, they were shocked and disappointed to learn that one of the alleged coup plotters was arrested at their resident.  She also informed this medium that, since they saw the wanted notice from the police declaring her husband wanted, her husband Patrick Sankoh has left her and her three children. She also informed this medium that she is also afraid of her safety and her three children.

All efforts made to get the response of Patrick Sankoh, the APC Youth Leader to respond on the issue have proven futile.
