Outgoing Ambassador to Egypt His Excellency Morie Fofana in a well-attended sendoff ceremony organized on Thursday, 26th August 2021 in the Conference Room of Embassy, bids farewell to staff members of the Embassy of Republic of Sierra Leone on completion of his duty.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Samuel Alie Kargbo acknowledged the exemplary leadership qualities portrayed by the outgoing Ambassador, noting that he will be missed by all. The Head of Chancery went furtherto wish the Outgoing Ambassador well in his future engagement.
Delivering his statement, the outgoing Ambassador expressed his profound appreciation to all staff during his tenure as Ambassador. He conveyed his unreserved thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio for giving him the opportunity to serve at a time he least expected.
Ambassador Fofana could be remembered for his magnanimity, thoughtful and humorous at work. During his stay, he assisted strengthen the Embassy’s relationship with Cairo, other African Ambassadors and the Sierra Leone Community. Ambassador Fofana also assisted to shape the Embassy of Cairo’s financial transactions and united the Embassy with Sierra Leoneans by coordinating and integrating them into the Embassy’s activities. Ambassador Fofana also helped re-establishing internal controls and organizing staff training.
“I thank you all for your three years of support and I can confess that I treasure working with you. I will be missing you greatly,” Ambassador Fofana said. The Embassy wished him well in his new endeavors.
The ceremony ended with exchanges of souvenirs, plaques and photographs.
