Pressure Mounts on Shankerdas to Account

The Integrated Intelligence Service of the Sierra Leone police has on Monday 9th August 2021, invited the management of Shankerdas and Sons (SL) Limited to probe into the allegations of blatant disregard of immigration laws, violations of Local Content Policy and failing to pay NASSIT contributions for their employees.
According to the letter from the Integrated Intelligence Service of the Sierra Leone Police dated 9th August 2021, that the purpose of the invitation is for the management of Shankerdas to respond to the plethora of allegations targeting their company; ranging from illegal importation of foreign nationals to the country, violations of Local Content Policy and failing to pay NASSIT contribution for their employees.
It could be recalled that G. Shankerdas and Sons (S.L.) Limited was established in 1939 as a trading and merchandising company and they are based in Freetown and they are primarily engaged in the manufacturing of alcohol and other products.
The company has been approved by ECOWAS and they have been granted duty-free trade under ETLS (ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme), (iv) Products portfolio for your ready reference.
All effort made to get the response of the management of Shankerdas and Sons have proven futile.
