As a way of enhancing exchange of expertise between the Sierra Leonean Armed Forces and the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Retired Coloniel Muana Brima Massaquoi headed a three-man delegation to the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The official visit is an invitation extended to the Sierra Leone Armed Forces to strengthening their mutual relations, cooperation and collaboration between the two sides.
The Deputy Minister and his delegation were warmly welcomed by the Egyptian Armed Forces led by Major General Mohamed Mohamed Abdellah and the Assistant Minister of Defense for Operations and head of the Egyptian delegation at the Egyptian Armed Forces Operations Authority on Sunday, 3rd September 2023.
Discussions during the meeting covered a number of issues of common interest including military cooperation and the transfer and exchange of expertise between the Sierra Leonean Armed Forces and the Egyptian Armed Forces.
On his part, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Sierra Leone expressed great felicitation for the invitation extended to them. He acknowledged the mutual cooperation that has existed between the two countries. He also thanked the Egyptian Armed Forces for the kind reception accorded to them. The Deputy Minister emphasizes the readiness of the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of the Republic of Sierra Leone to expand cooperation between the two countries in various military aspects.
On the Egyptian side, Major General Mohamed Mohamed Abdellah thanked the Sierra Leone Armed Forces for honoring their invitation. He expressed optimism that the joint committee will provide exchange of expertise and points of view in the framework of supporting and strengthening the bonds of military cooperation in a number of areas in relation to the future visions of both countries. He assured that the meeting will achieve the desired benefits and bear fruit at the regional level.
Other members of the Sierra Leonean delegation include Brigadier General Abu Bakarr Conteh, Assistant Chief of Defense Staff, Ambassador Sadiq Silla, Lieutenant Coloniel Momoh Emmanuel Luseni, Esq. Staff officer Grade 1, Directorate of Defense Legal, Samuel Alie Kargbo and Mona Zaghloul.
