In a mouth-watering presentation during the 7th KOAFEC Conference in Busan City, South Korea, the Sierr Leone’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Henry Kpaka has succeeded in explaining to donors and other development partners His Excellency President Julius Maada focus in the ‘FEED SALONE’ Agenda, which is to attain food self-sufficiency in the country.
The theme of the just concluded conference: “Just Energy Transition and Agricultural Transformation in Africa.”
The conference commenced on the 12th September and ended on 15th September 2023 in Busan, South Korea. The three-day conference marks a significant milestone as it was the first in-person meeting after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event brought 13 ministers from 54 African countries, and experts from international organizations and private companies discussed measures to address the on-going energy issues affecting the African continent.
The Republic of Sierra Leone Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Henry Musa Kpaka making a presentation at the KOAFEC Ministerial Roundtable conference with regard to: ‘Expected Intervention to embrace a sustainable future for Agricultural transformation in Sierra Leone ‘.
Henry Musa Kpaka in his presentation highlighted the role His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio is playing to transform farming activities in the country in attaining food self-sufficiency through the ‘FEED SALONE’ Agenda’. He informed the gathering about the readiness of government in embracing investments in the agriculture sector and other sectors. He continued by stating that the ‘FEED SALONE’ Agenda’ is resonate with the development aspirations of His Excellency President Bio to embrace a sustainable future for Agricultural transformation in Sierra Leone. He further underscored that His Excellency President Bio’s key priority is the ‘ FEED SALONE Agenda seeks to adopt a strategic approach to revitalize the agricultural industry in Sierra Leone, making it more competitive and inclusive.
Representatives from the Sierra Leone Embassy in South Korea including; the Ambassador Kathos Jibao Mattai and Isatu Sema Aisha Sillah Head of Chancery and Minister Plenipotentiary also grace the presentation of the Sierra Leone’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
Minister Kpaka whilst in Busan also engaged in other bilateral meetings with his counterparts to attract development and to deepen their relationship for future pursuit. Mr. Kpaka also participated in high-level discussions on the challenges posed by the energy trilemma-a balance among energy reliability, sustainability and affordability.
