Magistrate Sahr Kekura presiding over the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 has on Monday 13th September 2021 remanded in custody one Mohamed Kamara, the Operation’s Manager of Dynalab-SL over an allegation of embezzlement.
The accused was brought before the court on one count charge of Embezzlement contrary to section 17)(1(b) of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused Mohamed Kamara on Tuesday 1st April 2021 and Wednesday 30th June 2021 in Freetown, being an employee of Dynalab Sierra Leone Ltd, fraudulently embezzled two hundred and forty four million eight hundred and ninety nine thousand Leone (Le 244,899,000,00) being proceeds from sales of standardized herbs and nutrition supplements.
Lawyer Timbo representing the accused applied for bail pursuant to section 79 of the Criminal Procedure act 1965 but the Prosecutor lawyer Sahid Mohamed Sesay opposed to bail due to the serious nature of the offence.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura remanded in custody the accused person Mohamed Kamara at the Sierra Leone Male Correctional Center and the matter was adjourned to Monday 20th September 2021.
