Kobba Water, Western Rural District — On February 14, 2025, the Hope of Glory Foundation, established in 2020 by Pastor Matthew Pope Kamara and his wife, Grace, celebrated Valentine’s Day by sharing love with over 350 poor and needy children at Kobba Water, off Macdonald Village.
In his address, country representative and consultant Mr. Sullaiman Suntus Kamara emphasized the historical significance of Valentine’s Day. He shared that the day originated when Archbishop Valentine stood against the restrictions on Christian marriages, advocating for love and humanity. “Valentine is not only for couples; it is a day to celebrate love for all, including children, adults, and the elderly,” he stated.
Mr. Kamara noted that while many children around the world express love on this day, countless others miss out on such celebrations. This inspired the Hope of Glory Foundation to provide essential kits to the children, reminding them that they are cared for and valued.
Madam Kadiatu Jalloh, the foundation’s finance officer and coordinator, assured the children that the organization remains committed to addressing their needs. She announced plans to create recreational facilities and enhance social services for the children. “We were created to assist each other,” she said, urging parents and guardians to continue showing love to their children, which will inspire them to do more for their communities.
The event was a heartwarming reminder of the importance of community support and the need to uplift those in need, reinforcing the message that love knows no boundaries.
