As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to the people of Sierra Leone, the management of Karpowership has on Tuesday 8th November 2022, donated assorted food items to the Physically Challenged in Magbath Village in Four Mile in the Western Rural Area.
Presenting the donation of bags of rice, gallons of oil, dozens of Sierra Juice, bags of sugar, cartoons of pan milk, dozens of mayonnaise, bags of salt, cartoons of tomato paste and packets of powder milk, the Senior Commercial Project Manager of Karpowership underscores that since they commenced operations in Sierra Leone, they have supported lots of sectors in the country.
“This is part of our Cooperate Social Responsibility to our operational areas,” said Mr. Dogucan Bayraktar, stating further that, affirming that since they commenced operations, the management of Karpowership have played pivotal role in not only in the electricity sector but also in providing humanitarian support to those in need. Mr. Bayraktar recalled that, during the holy month of Ramadan, they donated huge quantities of assorted food items to Muslims throughout the country.
“Supporting the physically challenged is part of our Cooperate Social Responsibility in reaching out to the needy and less privileged of the country,” declared Senior Commercial Project Manager of Karpowership, adding that, this is a demonstration of our love to humanity.
On his part, the Local Project Manager of Karpowership, Mr. Yankay Sawanneh emphasized the need to support the physically challenged and the less privileged in society, stating that it is good to support those in need. He added that, this is not the first time they are reaching out to the less privileged in society. He went on to say that as part of their Cooperate Social Responsibility, they have constructed and renovated schools in Kingtom and donated community bathroom to the people of Kingtom in the Western Urban Area. He went on to say that during the fight against the deadly corona virus, they also provided the much needed support to the government and people of Sierra Leone. He further stated that, they have also supported the Blind and Deaf schools in Freetown with food and non-food items. The Local Project Manager of Karpowership appealed to members of the physically challenged in Magbath Village in Four Mile to make good use of the donated items.
The Headman of the Physically Challenged Community, thanked the management of Karpowership for donating the items to them. He assured the management of Karpowership that the items will be used judiciously.
