Leone Rock Metal Group Hands Over Renovated Babangida Hall in Binkolo

Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) recently  handed over the newly renovated Babangida Hall to the Binkolo community. The ceremony, which was attended by Paramount Chief Alimamy Dura III, the Chiefdom Speaker, town Chiefs, and other local leaders, along with representatives from Leone Rock Metal Group and residents of Binkolo, marked a significant milestone for the community. The Babangida Hall, originally built in 1988 by the late President Babangida of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has been transformed into a multipurpose facility. This renovation highlights LRMG’s dedication to sustainable development and social investment.

The extensive renovation included structural upgrades, modernized electrical systems, and improved accessibility features, making the hall suitable for various events such as conferences, cultural performances, weddings, and educational workshops.

Paramount Chief Alimamy Dura III, who also served as the Chairman for the occasion, expressed his heartfelt thanks to LRMG for their generous contribution to the community. He noted that the modernization of the Babangida Hall would significantly boost both the cultural and economic growth of Binkolo. The Chief encouraged LRMG to continue their efforts in the coming years and expressed gratitude for the company’s commitment to fostering unity and development within the community. He emphasized that the hall would serve as a vital hub for gatherings, educational programs, and cultural events, helping to strengthen the bonds among residents.

Community and Security Manager – LRMG, Alhaji Mohammed Turay delivered greetings from the company, marking the handover as a significant milestone in LRMG’s partnership with Binkolo. He highlighted how the renovation of Babangida Hall not only honors the community’s history but also provides a modern space that encourages unity, creativity, and progress. He praised Safroko Limba as one of the most peaceful chiefdoms among the 10 chiefdoms and 9 highlands under his watch and urged both pedestrians and motorists to be cautious when crossing the railway tracks from Kilometer 1 to 195 in Tonkolili.

In closing, Security Superintendent – LRMG, Nabieu Fofonah expressed his deep appreciation to LRMG for their investment in the community. He commended the local authorities, contractors, and residents for their support, encouraging everyone to take responsibility for maintaining the facility.
