Investigations conducted by this press has indicated, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has robbed three chiefdoms in Karene District of their local authorities.
Over the 51 Paramount Chieftaincy Elections to be conducted, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has blatantly left out three chiefdoms in Karene District that are without Paramount Chiefs.
Our investigations further revealed that SandaMagbolontho, which is the most populated of all thirteen chiefdoms has a populations of 16, 894 inhabitants and is deprived of a Paramount Chief. Also, the Dibia chiefdom with a population of 15, 519 is also without a Paramount Chief.
The newly crowned chiefdoms are TandaTandaron with a population of 14, 466 and the least MafondaMakermbly which was de-amalgamated from LidisayGebahun Chiefdom in 2015 has a population of 6,572 inhabitants.
Other chiefdoms with a high population include, SelaLimba, 16, 810 LidisaySebahun, 16, 199, Tambobe Chiefdom 16, 901 Yabaiya, 13, 923, SandaLoko 11, 479 Buya 11, 445.
