President Bio Commends Pius Richards

His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has commended Mr. Emmanuel Pius Richards for the construction of Liberia and a Memorial Hall for the people of Serabu and its immediate surrounds.

President Julius Maada Bio made this statement during the official commissioning of the Martha Antoinette Richards Memorial Hall and Library in Serabu built by Mr. Emmanuel Pius Richards in support of the government efforts in the Free Quality Education program.

His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio thanked Mr. Emmanuel Pius Richards for the kind gesture in supporting the flagship program of the ruling SLPP government. His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio described the ‘Free Quality Education’ program as a pro-poor service to empower children whose parents are poor and cannot afford to pay their tuition fees.

“Many children can now boast of free and quality education in the country,” said President Bio, adding by thanking Pius Richards for supporting the people of Serabu.

“I want to thank Pious for constructing this beautiful edifices in Serabu,” averred President Bio, stating further that, with our little contribution to this nation, all of us will be able to transform Sierra Leone. He added that, this is what he meant by ‘Paopa Salone go beteh’. He appealed to the people of Serabu to make good use of the edifies provided to them and he also assured that his government will continue to support them.

On his part, Mr. Emmanuel Pius Richards informed the gathering that the memorial hall and the library is part of his contribution to the Free Quality Education program, adding that, he has also donated books to school children in Serabu and its immediate surroundings. He continued by stating that, he has also taken the messages of the ‘Hands off Our Girls’ campaign of the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone to all the chiefdoms in Serabu. On behalf of the people of Serabu, he called the attention of the government to support the Serabu Hospital. Arguable, he said that, before Serabu has the best hospital but it has suddenly dropped in terms of standards.
