The Strand Base Organization, located at Waterloo Street, demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian efforts by donating rice bags and other essential food items to various mosques in the Central district on Monday, April 1st, 2024. This act of generosity is part of their Ramadan initiative and is expected to benefit over five hundred families.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mr. Ackmed Mansaray, the Public Relations Officer of the organization, emphasized the organization’s mission, stating that since its establishment in 2019, it has been dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable, particularly those residing in the Central area of the capital city. He expressed gratitude for the contributions made by members and pledged continued support through similar donations in the future. Mr. Mansaray urged all Muslim worshippers to maintain faith in Allah, emphasizing the importance of law-abiding behavior, mutual respect, humility, and reverence for leadership during the holy month of Ramadan.
In response, Alhaji Musa Kargbo, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the organization’s annual donations to the Muslim community. He highlighted the Islamic principle of sacrificing for the betterment of others, emphasizing that the Strand Base Organization’s generosity exemplifies true faith and compassion.
The occasion concluded with prayers offered for the prosperity of the organization. Representing the organization were Harold Hassan Tholley, Secretary General; Mohamed Bangura, Chairman; Yusuf Kargbo, Organizing Secretary; Umar Yorpio, Vice Chairman, and several other members.
