The Commission currently seeks to recruit Office Assistant —2

The Independent Media Commission was established by The IMC Act of 2000 as amended which Act was repealed and replaced by the IMC Act No. 5 2020, to provide for the registration and regulation of mass media institutions in Sierra Leone licensing institutions engaged in radio, television or direct to home digital satellite service broadcasting and registration of persons and institutions engaged in the publication of newspapers, magazines in Sierra Leone and to provide for other related matters. 

The Commission currently seeks to recruit Office Assistant —2

Reports to: Senior Administrative Officer

Location: Freetown  

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, supporting Commissioners and Staff, and liaising with partners and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking care of visitors and support them to reach out their goals.
  • Whenever the tap is open or we have empty containers, it is your duty to fill or facilitate all empty containers within the Commission.
  • Assist in sorting and distributing communications in a timely manner
  • Organize office and assist staff in ways that optimize procedures
  • Perform receptionist duties when needed.
  • Cleaning, organize and maintain office and common areas.
  • Performing general office duties and errands.
  • Assist in coordinating events and support staff as and when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Assist staff in office-related malfunctions and respond to requests or issues
  • Maintaining the cleaning of office and its equipment always.
  • Experience one Office assistant at the Reception area always.
  • Cleaning and maintaining, the rest rooms and its environs.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by the Senior Administrative Secretary as she would be reporting to the Human Resource Manager when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or Higher School Certificate
  • Demonstrate good time-management skills arriving at work in or on time.
  • Showcase verbal communication skills.
  • Be a good listener 
  • Knowledge in operating office generator
  • Riding or Driving skills are added advantages
