WATERLOO POLICE SECURITY UPDATES

46 people, comprising 7 women and 39 men, from various addresses within Waterloo, have on Wednesday the 13th of September 2023, made their first appearance at the Magistrate’s Court, King Yard, Waterloo, after they were arrested by security forces on Monday the 11th of September 2023 for their roles in the Unlawful Protests in and around Waterloo.

Incitement, Riotous Conduct, Disorderly behavior, Throwing Missiles, Public Insult and Provocation, etc. were among the numerous Public Order Act Offenses of 1965 under which they were charged to court.

Quantity of rocks/stones, old vehicle tyres, placards with provocative words, etc. were some of the exhibits the security forces arrested with the illegal protesters.

All 46 accused persons (protesters) were remanded at the Banga Farm/Kissi Town Correctional Center on the outskirts of Waterloo.

They (the accused persons) will make their next appearance in court on Monday the 18th of September, 2023.
